P4H England 2018 – What did you miss?
19 July 2018
It has been one week since P4H 2018! Over 1300 attendees joined us on the day, enjoying over 30+ training sessions and 5 Networking Zones as well as a range of innovative displays shown in the Product Showcase.
We would like to thank all partners, sponsors, delegates, and exhibitors for their involvement and help in making this year’s event a success.
If you were unable to attend, find out more about what you missed below!
NHS Counter Fraud Authority
The NHS recently celebrated its 70th birthday. We were delighted to be joined by many NHS organisations on the day of the event, including our platinum sponsor, NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHSCFA).
Oliver Stopnitzky, Senior Fraud Prevention Officer at NHS CFA, introduced the new brand in the Keynote Arena and was delighted by the response he received, he told the BiP team that NHS CFA “had a lot of questions after his speech with people coming to the stand to find out more”. Many asked about what NHS CFA does and how they can help healthcare organisations.
He also said that he found it important for procurement professionals to attend events like P4H, noting that those working with the NHS should “understand what is going on within the sector.”
NHS Supply Chain
NHS Supply Chain also attended and partnered with P4H England this year. Chris Holmes, Supply Chain Director, joined us at the P4H Keynote Arena where he spoke about the Procurement Transformation Programme.
In an interview with the BiP team he noted that:
“P4H is one of the largest procurement conferences in the UK, so it is really important for us to attend. As an organisation that is talking about the new operating model for the NHS, this is an invaluable platform for us. It gives us the opportunity to a wide range of procurement professionals and suppliers”
Chris Holmes also presented in the new Future Operating Model Engagement and Learning Zone.
FOM Engagement and Learning Zone
This year, we added a new training zone to the P4H England event – the Future Operating Model (FOM) Engagement & Learning Zone, which was led by the Category Tower Service Providers. Throughout the day this area was packed with delegates wanting to learn about the design of the new NHS Supply Chain service.
The Training Zone’s closing session was led by Nicola Harrington, Tower Director of DHL. Nicola’s speech was “about delivery quality and value for the NHS”. In an interview with BiP Solutions after this session, Nicola spoke about collaboration with healthcare buyers:
“As procurement professionals, we can go out and develop strategies; however, we need to make sure that the NHS is on board with those strategies. We need to make sure that the NHS is feeding into those strategies so that they are delivered and are fit for purpose.
